Your Cast Iron Dutch Oven will need periodic maintenance to keep looking new.
Here's the process for the first wash and prep and whenever it looks like your Cast Iron Dutch Oven needs it:
Wash: Use dish soap and rinse well.
Dry: Thoroughly dry with a tea towel. No drip drying.
Warm: Place on low heat until completely dry. 160°C in the oven for 10mins will do the trick.
Oil: Apply a neutral oil with a dry cloth and place in the oven at 200°C for half an hour, then let cool.
Done: After cooling in the oven it's ready to be stored away, patiently waiting for it's next use.

Great service and advice. I have been baking for quite a while, read lots of books but I have learnt so much since discovering You Knead Sourdough. The downside is I am eating too much bread it is so good and looks the very perfect part.
